Marc is a Managing Director at Frankel Group LLC, which he originally joined as a Consultant in 1995 and has worked, managed and advised on a wide range of projects including business franchise development, product marketing strategy, LM&A, clinical development & regulatory planning, channel strategy, life cycle management, sales planning & account targeting. Clients have consisted of large and mid-size pharmaceutical, biotechnology, generics, drug delivery, lab/diagnostics, pharmacy/distribution and e-health. Disease areas of significant recent focus include psychiatry, neurology, virology, oncology, metabolics, inflammatory disease, blood/coagulation disorders and genetic disease. Marc has also worked extensively in life science & healthcare services, including the CRO, R&D tools / technology, and provider sectors. He has managed several LM&A projects in collaboration with Geller Biopharm over the past 3 years.
Most recently at Frankel Group, Marc has been advising primarily specialty / mid-sized pharma clients on data management strategies for monitoring brand market performance over the product lifecycle. This entails building datasets & analytics that track product usage by payer type, health plan benefit design, Rx utilization policy / access restrictions, provider type and other channel segments in order to optimize allocation of marketing, sales and contracting resources.
In recent years Marc has also had a particular focus on transaction-based mandates, an increasing component of the firm's practice that encompasses product/platform licensing, M&A, fund raising and company formation. Previously, he played lead role in equity4life (e4l), a Zurich-based private equity fund for which Frankel Group provided asset management. Marc's role with e4l focused on due diligence and post-investment advisory to portfolio companies, primarily involving commercialization strategy.
Prior to joining Frankel Group, Marc held management positions in Marketing Services and Market Research at Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield (NY). Prior to that he worked in financial & utilization analysis and medical informatics with Bay State Health Care HMO (merged with Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA). He holds an AB in Political Science from Syracuse University, and an MBA from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College.
